Counseling

Hello, my name is Jennifer Hayhurst. The 2023-24 school year will be my fifth year at Lincoln Elementary. I am a Licensed Professional School Counselor with a Masters in Education from Capital University and a BA in Psychology from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.

I have been working in child and adult mental health in various roles since 2008 and have presented at state and national counseling conferences. I will serve as the full-time school counselor at Lincoln Elementary this year.

Our overall mission is to inspire all students to develop their potential to become inclusive, empathetic, emotionally mature, and persevering to meet life’s challenges.

We have designed the school counseling program at Lincoln Elementary to follow the recommendations of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). We will be providing a comprehensive program including social-emotional learning through classroom lessons, small group counseling, and short-term individual counseling.
